The Members of Hodie Snitch

John Green

Lead Vocals

A southerner by nature, a Chicagoan by nurture. John lives, breaths, and loves the songs that are Hodie Snitch. Open hearted, open minded, and with feelings on his sleeves, his lead vocals and library of lyrics keep the band’s momentum going through every show.

Stephanie Harris

Lead Vocals

Empowering woman and enlightening men with her southern charm, Steph packs a punch - then will melt your heart. A true southern belle, hailing from Louisiana, Steph is always steering Hodie to stay true to the roots of the music. Not only delivering the classics, Steph brings her favorites to Hodie, expanding the meaning ‘Your Daddy’s Country.’

Heath Chappell

Drums, Vocals

Raised in North Carolina, Heath came to Chicago to focus on the jazz scene, still regularly performing with many acts around town. As Hodie Snitch’s heartbeat and defacto musical director, Heath gets to play the music of his youth, singing harmonies and leads as the music calls for.

Mark “Chaz” Maciasz

Telecaster & Pedals Steel

Double duty Chaz takes care of leads and melodies on telecastor & pedal steel for Hodie Snitch. Stepping up to the plate as needed on the crying table, Chaz brings emotion to the ballads, and blazing solos to the barn burners. A true ‘country’ player around town, Chaz plays both kinds of country: modern & classic. If you want to see sheer joy of a player on stage, watch for Chaz to scream out some harmonies during a show!

Barrett

Acoustic, Vocals

Born and bred Chicago, with a small stint in New Orleans, Barrett is a musicians’ musician. Proficient on 15+ instruments, Barrett is the swiss-armyknife of music - he brings a deep pocket of experiences to Hodie Snitch. Finding joy in the songs, the ‘not that simple’ straightforward sound of country music, and the challenges of making well known songs ‘your own,’ Barrett joined the team aiming to raise the bar for himself & Hodie Snitch.

“J.Ro” - Jon Rogers

Bass Guitar

Hailing from New York City’s 80’s music scene, Jon focused on jazz, pop, arrangements and performance, becoming the band leader on cruise ships for almost a decade. Jon’s done it all from cover bands, improv acts, songwriting, producing, to being a premier recording session player. (Chubby Checker!) Jon’s found joy in pushing the envelope of classic country tunes to become hip shakers and party tunes.

Who IS Hodie Snitch???

  • Andy Griffith Show

  • Season 2, Episode 1, “Opie and The Bully”

  • Released October 2, 1961

  • Running Time 26min.

Andy is curious as to why Opie asked Aunt Bee for a nickel for milk and then came and asked him for another. Inquiring later as to why he needed two, Opie ducks and dodges the issue and Andy gives up when the boy pretends to be asleep. The next day, the mystery deepens when he discusses the problem with Barney who reveals that Opie stopped by and asked him for a nickel. Barney decides to find out for himself by following Opie home from school and discovers that one of the older kids has threatened to give Opie a knuckle sandwich every day if he doesn't produce a nickel. Barney is outraged and suggests to Andy that he give Opie some lessons in how to fight. Andy figures that this is not an issue of fighting but an issue of overcoming fear and decides that he needs an indirect way of getting Opie to stand up for himself. The next day he takes Opie fishing and uses the opportunity to tell him the story of how he found this spot when he was a little boy after overcoming a bully named Hodie Snitch who warned him not to ever come back. The lesson sinks in with Opie and the next day he asks Andy to take a change of clothes to the courthouse. He gets into a fight with the bully and gets a black eye and feels better for having stood up for himself, though Opie is so delighted by his new shiner that he doesn't want to treat it.
